y2kThe new millennium added two new problems for software, abbreviating dates by their last 2 digits caused the year to be recognized as 1990 and some programs incorrectly didn’t view 2000 as a leap year. The Y2K bug was a computer flaw that may have caused problems when dealing with dates beyond December 31, 1999. The flaw, faced by computer programmers and users all over the world on January 1, 2000, is also known as the “millennium bug.”
