2000-Dot Com Boom

Dotcom-Bubble-NasdaqOn March 10th the Nasdaq composite index peaked at 5048.62. The Dot Com bubble grew out of a combination of the presence of speculative or fad-based investing.  There was an abundance of venture capital investing for start-ups and the failure of dotcoms to produce a profit. Investors did not take a cautious approach when investing in tech companies during the 1990’s.
