windows 3.0Windows 3.0 was the first successful version of windows. Microsoft updated the interface and created a design that allowed PC’S to support large graphical applications. Another successful feature is that it allowed multiple programs to run simultaneously on its intel 80386 microprocessor. Microsoft created a number of other applications that ran under windows 3.0 including versions of excel and Microsoft word. The lack of multimedia and network features in windows 3.0 saw it quickly replaced by windows 3.1.
