Created by John and Thomas Knoll, the image editing program and the most popular software program published by Adobe systems. While studying his PHD at the university of Michigan, Thomas created the early version of the program. John then saw a practical use for it, he was an industrial light and magic employee, he urged his brother to turn it into a full-fledged program. Hence it was named ‘Display’. The Knoll brothers then renamed Display to Image-Pro. They approached many companies to purchase the program but they had no interest. Adobe saw potential in the program and purchased the license for distribution.
