Aldus released Pagemaker used in macintosh computers. For PC’s with the new windows 1.0, Pagemaker relied on adobes post script page description language. This ground-breaking program was the first ever desktop publishing application. Pagemaker was one of three that revolutionized the use of personal computers, virtually creating the desktop publishing industry. The other was adobe postscript and laser writer printer from apple. Now anyone could create brochures, publishers had to start becoming computer literate. Aldus helped market Apple to people wanting desktop publishing capabilities, in return Apple featured Aldus’s software in most of its advertising.
