1985-C++

CPlusPlusBjarne Stroustrup releases a book called the C++ PROGRAMMING LANGUAGE and C++ emerges as the dominant object orientated language in the computer industry. Stroustrup from AT&T labs said his motivation came from his desire to create a programming language that would allow more complex programs and which combined the low level features of BCPL with the high level structures of Simula. While at AT&T labs, Stroustup had the problem of analyzing the Unix kernel with respect to distributed computing. From his experience during his Ph.D, Stroustrap set out to enhance the C language with Simla features. C was chosen because it was general-purpose, fast, portable and widely used. Stroustrup stated that C++ was designed to make programming more enjoyable for the serious programmer.
