The C programming language is created by Dennis Ritchie and his team. The development of C started on the PDP-11 Unix system and first appeared in version 2 Unix. The C programming language is based on the earlier language basics. Soon after Ritchie re-wrote Unix in C. One of Ritchie’s most important contributions was that it was easily ported to other computers and spread quickly. The C language is still used today in application, operating system and embedded system development. The influence of the C language is seen in most modern programming languages.
